Walburga nun’s First Holy Communion book teaches from the heart

Sister Immaculata Bertolli authored and illustrated Jesus in My Heart: Preparing for First Holy Communion, which is full of hands-on activities.

When faced with a bored learner, this nun took matters into her own hands and authored a First Holy Communion book designed to engage as well as instruct. The book has received rave reviews and so many requests that the Abbey of St. Walburga decided to publish it.

“The first lesson is called, ‘Listening with Your Heart.’ It’s about going into your heart to pray. Mother Maria Michael (Newe) taught me how to do that in my 20s.”

– Sister Immaculata Bertolli, Abbey of St. Walburga, author of Jesus in My Heart: Preparing for First Holy Communion
