ABOUT YOUTH MINISTRY The youth ministry program here at St. Joseph is for all current middle and high school students. We have Middle School Youth Group (MSYG) for 6th to 8th graders on Wednesday nights from 6:30m to 8 PM. High School Youth Group (HSYG) for 9th to 12th graders is held Sunday afternoons from 3 to 4:45 PM. All students are welcome! Throughout the year, we will also hold activities outside of the normal times that youth ministry is held, such as a trip to the corn maze, lock-ins, and retreats. We hope to see you there!
ROSARY WALK Join the Saint Joseph community for our annual Rosary Walk on Thursday, October 19th! It is an interactive rosary, where you get to use luminaries as the beads. Rosaries will begin at 6:30 and 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be served after the rosary. We hope to see everyone there!
HARVEST FARM’S FALL FESTIVAL Saint Joseph will be taking their annual trip to Harvest Farm’s Fall Festival on October 21st. This event is open for all high school and middle school students. We will leave 1 PM on Saturday, and take the Saint Joseph bus to Harvest Farms. The cost is $15 per person. Join us for corn mazes, hay rides, corn cannons, and much more fun!
FALL CLEAN-UP Join other Jesus lovers during the fall clean-up! On October 28th, spend the day helping parishioners get ready for winter by cleaning up their yards by doing fall yard work like raking leaves. It’s free to participate! Contact Chad if you are interested in having people come help you clean up your yard.
CONFIRMATION Archbishop Aquila’s pastoral letter “Saints Among Us” introduces the restored order of the Sacraments of Christian Initiation to the Archdiocese of Denver. Accordingly, St. Joseph Parish is stepping down the age of Confirmation to 3rd grade by 2020. During the 2017-18 school year, students in 3rd-6th grades will prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring of 2018. Our Confirmation Step Down document describes how we will complete the transition.
YOUTH MINISTRY EVENTS Each year, our youth ministry participates in events that take place over multiple days, but are highly loved by the participants. Two of the events are our annual mission trips. In June this summer, we will take a trip for current high school juniors and seniors to Salt Lake City for a week to work with Catholic Charities. In July, we will take our 10th annual trip to Taos, New Mexico to help Habitat for Humanity. All high school students are invited for this trip! For our middle school students, Mountain Madness is an annual retreat in February. It is a Catholic retreat and they will spend the weekend with a thousand other Catholics at the YMCA of the Rockies.
For more information on any event, contact Chad.
