Mary Grigsby and kindergarteners - Saint Joseph Catholic School - Fort Collins - Colorado - 80521

FORT COLLINS, Colorado – We are happy to announce that Mrs. Mary Grigsby, kindergarten teacher at Saint Joseph Catholic School, has won the Distinguished Teacher Award from the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).

The award was established in honor of Sr. Miriam Joseph Farrell, a nationally prominent Catholic educator who died in 1970, following a brilliant career that included membership on President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Title II Advisory Commission. It is presented to one teacher in each of eight geographic regions.

“We could not be more pleased for Mary, and I could not think of a more deserving recipient,” said Fr. Steven Voss, pastor of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and School.

Mrs. Grigsby, who has taught at the school for 16 years, was recognized for her excellence in teaching, her significant contributions to the learning community, and for living out a clear philosophy of Catholic education.

Saint Joseph Catholic School, established in 1926, focuses on rigorous academics, reinforced family environment, a nurturing community, and Catholic faith formation. To enroll, call (970) 484-1171.
