8th-grader wins Rocky Mountain PBS StoryMakers Contest

Congratulations to Saint Joseph Catholic School 8th-grader Erin Mallory for her first-place win in the 2012 Rocky Mountain PBS StoryMakers Contest! Erin wrote “Tricking the Sheep”, a poignant short story about loss and family love.

Rocky Mountain PBS received more than 950 submissions from 6th-, 7th- and 8th-graders for the 2012 competition. Aspiring authors came from 151 schools and 98 towns across the state of Colorado.

Erin, winner in the StoryMakers 8th-grade division, and the staff at Rocky Mountain PBS digitized “Tricking the Sheep”, which you can enjoy in the video above.
