TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor                                                                  FLSA:  Exempt


The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance, function, safety, improvement, cleaning and aesthetics of the entire physical plant at St Joseph Parish. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for the supervision of all maintenance staff and volunteers.



  1. Administrative Responsibilities

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a working schedule for special projects, maintenance, repairs and cleaning. The Maintenance Supervisor will also serve as the supervisor to the maintenance staff and any maintenance volunteers who will be involved in temporary or ongoing parish projects. The Maintenance Supervisor will regularly interact with the Pastor and the administrative staff and will be subject to all the rules and regulations of the Parish and the Archdiocese of Denver.

  1. General Duties
  • Perform tasks associated with repair and maintenance of all buildings and grounds.
  • Schedule and Supervise maintenance staff and volunteers regarding cleaning and maintenance of all buildings and grounds.
  • Schedule and Supervise all work performed by outside professionals related to repair, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Inspect all facilities and grounds on a routine basis, making a log of any tasks to be completed.
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance and cleaning schedule for the buildings and grounds that reflect daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually duties.
  • Develop, manage and follow a facility work order system.
  • Maintain, organize and replace supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain and develop an inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Work with architects, contractors, and administrative staff during construction projects.
  • Provide support for the Parish when large events are scheduled at Civic Center Park, and when events restrict access to the Church buildings.
  • Watch parking lots for parking violations. All Church lots are restricted to visitors and staff members of Saint Joseph Parish and School.


  1. Other Responsibilities
    • Attend all parish staff meetings and in-service days.
      • Other duties as requested and needed. 


  • An understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural systems with the ability to quickly analyze and repair or enlist the help of qualified professionals.
  • Proficient use of computers with the ability to utilize email and Microsoft Office products or similar applications.
  • Adherence to all common safety standards, a knowledge of and adherence to OSHA guidelines, with the ultimate goal of making St Joseph Parish a beautiful and safe environment for all.
  • Satisfactorily complete all Parish and Archdiocesan paperwork requirements including but not limited to a criminal background check, safe environment training, and online safety certification courses.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as-needed and be on-call for emergencies or large events.
