Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver will preside at the annual Mass of Remembrance of Roe v. Wade at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, located at 1530 Logan St. in Denver. The Mass will mark the 41-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion in the United States. The archbishop will also preside at 3 p.m. at the 2nd annual prayer event and pilgrim blessing at the Lighthouse Women’s Center, located at 3894 Olive St. in Denver, across the street from Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. The event is titled “41-Year Remembrance: Honoring Denver’s Children Lost to Abortion.” The event will begin with song and prayer, after which Archbishop Aquila will address the crowd and bless those who will represent Denver at the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., Jan. 22. The event will conclude with a procession to Planned Parenthood. There, participants will place flowers along the fence surrounding the campus and pray for children who lost their lives at the facility. Attendees are asked to bring flowers.
